Mexico won over Costa Rica 3-0 on Saturday in a World Cup qualifier. Mexico is in a strong position to reach 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Honduras and the United States have 13 points each to lead CONCACAF qualifying. Mexico and Costa Rica have 12.
The top three teams advance automatically to the 32-team tournament. No. 4 faces a playoff with the No. 5 from South America for another berth.
