Barcelona meet Liverpool, Chelsea's Mourinho faces old club Porto
Nyon, Switzerland (dpa) - European champions Barcelona were drawn Friday to play five-time winners Liverpool in the first knock-out stage of Europe's Champions League.
The round of 16 tie pits the winners of the past two seasons against each other, with Liverpool winning in 2005 and Barca in 2006.
Meanwhile, record nine-time European champions Real Madrid come up against German title-holders Bayern Munich in the draw made in Nyon, Switzerland.
In another major encounter, English champions Chelsea come up against Portugal's Porto, pitting Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho against the club he led to the Champions League title in 2004.
Six-times champions AC Milan face Scottish side Celtic while cross-town rivals and Italian league leaders Inter Milan have been pitted against Spanish side Valencia.
Of England's remaining clubs in the last 16, last year's losing finalists Arsenal come up against Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven while English league leaders Manchester United meet French side Lille.
In the remaining tie, French champions Lyon meet Roma.
The round of 16 matches are to be played over two legs on February 20/21 and March 6/7, 2007. The final is scheduled for May 23 in Athens. 23. // © 2006 DPA
