Beckham sits, Galaxy loses again
David Beckham, Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder, was not on the roster for Sunday's game against the New England Revolution.
Beckham, who is nursing a tender left ankle, arrived on the team bus, wearing his warmups like the rest of the Galaxy players. But he did not join his teammates on the field for pregame warmups, and when the rosters for the match were announced about 40 minutes before the 7 p.m. kickoff, he was not listed as a starter or a substitute.
Beckham has played just twice for the Galaxy since signing a five-year, $32.5 million contract in January. He sprained his ankle while playing for England in June, aggravated it in a game with Real Madrid later that month and then tweaked it again last week, Aurora Beacon News reports.

"I spoke to Steve about my fitness and how it has been over here," explained Beckham.
"He said he's looking forward to me coming over, even if I can't play.
"It's important that all the players come together.
"I have to be fit physically and mentally to play for the country and I have to play for the Galaxy first," SkySports informs. // Pravda.Ru
