Chelsea slip up with draw; Portsmouth up to third
London (dpa) - Chelsea lost ground on leaders Manchester United at the top of the English Premiership on Boxing Day as they were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Reading.
Didier Drogba twice put Chelsea ahead but Leroy Lita and an own goal from Michael Essien gave Reading a share of the spoils and left Chelsea still one point behind United.
United play Wigan at Old Trafford later on Saturday.
In the day's other early games, Portsmouth won 2-1 at West Ham to move up to third, while Tottenham Hotspur returned to winning ways as they beat Aston Villa 2-1. // © 2006 DPA
