Donetsk is preparing for guests for Euro-2009 finals & Euro-2012

Despite the crisis in Ukraine, the Euro-2009 and Euro-2012 preparations do not stop.

While big business with state authorities have demonstrated a lack of sufficient financial resources, which can be invested into roads, hotels and airports, small entrepreneurs are preparing in a full swing to welcome guests on their own.

One example is the first of its kind project - Donetsk city guide www.citylife.donetsk.ua, launched before the beginning of Euro-2009.

The project aims to provide information about visiting the city of Donetsk and Donetsk region in a convenient and accessible form, with pictures and maps.

Inside the website there are the following topics: 10 places to visit, hotels, restaurants, cafes, bars and coffee shops, Entertainment, Nightlife, Culture, Places, taxi, car rental, Transportation, Healthcare / Medical, Sports, Telephone / Operators / Call abroad, tips, Forum and much more.

Over the past few years the city has changed greatly. Central parks, boulevards, squares, streets, Kalmius riverside, memorable and historic sites, museums and places of culture were reconstructed greatly. The new 50-thousand beautiful stadium Donbass Arena is now ready to open its doors.

The whole world spoke about Donetsk after the UEFA Cup Championship winning by Shakhtar football team. The Euro-2009 finals will bring together more than 4 thousand foreign guests, Euro-2012 over 30 thousand accroding to research. International matches of UEFA Champions League and the League of Europe, traditionally are popular in Donetsk and more and more fans from other countries participate in them. Foreign delegations regularly visit Donetsk region.

«We tried to help tourists and visitors of the city to coordinate their route through the city and provide as many options of things to do in Donetsk. Unfortunately, volunteers are not always able to help foreigners, to escort a foreigner to his or her desired location. », - said director of the marketing department Roman Kogan.

This resource is intended for visitors, tourists, football fans, businessmen, who value their time and will plan to stay in the city. This type of the guide has been all the time popular in Europe and Asia and is in a great demand among tourists. As a rule, the resource of this type contributes to the postive image of Donetsk, advertises touristic and cultural potential of Donetsk region.
