Rio de Janeiro (dpa) - Brazil's national football squad is set to play a friendly game next month against Portugal, headed by former Brazilian national coach Luiz Felipe Scolari.

The Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) said Thursday that the match will take place on February 6 at a venue that is yet to be confirmed, possibly in London.

The game would mark the first time new Brazil coach and former international Dunga plays "Felipao" Scolari, who led Brazil to a fifth World Cup title in 2002 and is a candidate to return and replace Dunga if he is not successful.

Dunga started a process to renew the Brazilian squad in July inmediately after its stars went out in the quarter-finals of the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

Under his command, the "new Brazil" drew 0-0 in a friendly game against Norway, and then beat Argentina, Wales, Ecuador and Kuwait.

Brazil and Portugal played each other for the last time on March 29, 2003 in a friendly game in Porto. The European side - already headed by Scolari at the time - won 2-1 over a Brazilian team coached by Dunga's predecessor Carlos Alberto Parreira. // © 2006 DPA
