Federer wins Masters Cup
Top-seeded and No. 1-ranked Roger Federer trounced No. 6 David Ferrer 6-2, 6-3, 6-2 Sunday in the final of the season-ending Masters Cup in Shanghai.
With his victory, which was worth $1.2 million, the native of Basel, Switzerland, became the first player in history to earn more than $10 million in one season.

In the final, he stroked 30 winners, compared to 10 for Ferrer.
He rose to 8-0 lifetime against the Spaniard, and went 65-9, finishing No. 1 a fourth straight time.
Ferrer had 38 unforced errors, compared to 29 for Federer.
Federer won the four-player Red Group in the round-robin event, while Ferrer was the Gold Group winner with his 4-1 mark. // Copyright 2007 by United Press International
