MLB: Kansas City 10, Minnesota 7 (11 inn.)
Alberto Callaspo had three hits and drove in a run in a three-run 11th inning Saturday to help the Kansas City Royals top the Minnesota Twins 10-7.
Craig Breslow (0-1) started the 11th for Minnesota and walked Coco Crisp, Willie Bloomquist and Mark Teahen to load the bases. R.A. Dickey walked John Buck to force in a run. Callaspo followed with a run-scoring groundout and David DeJesus singled to left to score Teahen.
Joakim Soria (1-0), who got the final two outs of the 10th inning, closed the game in the bottom of the 11th.
Callaspo also had two doubles. Bloomquist had three hits, including a solo homer, for the Royals. Miguel Olivo had three runs batted in for Kansas City, which pulled into a tie with the Chicago White Sox for the AL Central lead.
Royals starter Brian Bannister allowed six runs on eight hits 5 1/3 innings.
