MLB: Texas 9, Chicago White Sox 6
Hank Blalock had two hits and four RBI Saturday and the Texas Rangers recorded a 9-6 win over the Chicago White Sox.
Blalock's big hit was a two-out three-run homer in the bottom of the third. He added an RBI double in a six-run fourth for the Rangers, who have split their last four contests.
Texas starter Brandon McCarthy (3-0) got the win, going five innings while allowing one run on three hits with three strikeouts and no walks.
Frank Francisco pitched a perfect ninth to get his seventh save.
Chicago's AJ Pierzynski had two hits -- one a two-out grand slam in the top of the sixth. Jim Thome had two hits and one RBI.
Alexei Ramirez hit a second-inning sacrifice fly, while Josh Fields added two hits for the White Sox, who also have split their last four games.
Losing pitcher Jose Contreras (0-4) was torched for seven earned runs and seven hits in 3 1/3 innings.
