Moldova defeats Germany in European Youth Championship preliminaries
Moldova’s youth football team won 1-0 over Germany’s team in the preliminaries of the European Championship-2009, ninth group. The only goal was scored in the 16th minute when the German fullback Dennis Aogo sent the ball in their own goal.
The match was played on Sheriff Stadium in Tiraspol and refereed by Croatia’s Marijo Strahonja.
Here are the ninth group standings:
1. Germany - 13 points (6 matches played);
2. Israel - 13 (6);
3. Northern Ireland - 12 (7);
4. Moldova - 9 (7);
5. Luxemburg - 0 (6).
Moldova will play the last match of the current preliminaries with Luxemburg on September 9.//REPORTER.MD
