NBA: LA Clippers 102, New Jersey 101
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 26 (UPI) -- Cuttino Mobley's three-point shot with .6 seconds left Thursday night gave the Los Angeles Clippers a 102-101 win over the New Jersey Nets.
Elton Brand had 18 points and eight rebounds, Corey Maggette scored 18 and grabbed six rebounds and Mobley scored 17 for the Clippers, who won their fourth straight game.
Vince Carter led all scorers with 33 points, but missed a dunk on a last-second inbounds pass that would have given the Nets the game. Instead, New Jersey lost its third straight one-point decision.
The Clippers led by 18 at one point in the third quarter, but the Nets climbed back to tie the game, 97-97, with 2:28 to go. The Nets went up, 101-99, with 8.7 seconds remaining, but left Mobley open for a three off a pass from Sam Cassell.
