Elton Brand had 22 points and seven rebounds Sunday night as the Los Angeles Clippers routed the Seattle SuperSonics, 98-76.

Sam Cassell finished with 21 points on 5-for-5 shooting from beyond the three-point arc, and also dished out seven assists for the Clippers, who won for the fifth time in their last six games. Cuttino Mobley and Corey Maggette each scored 10 points, and Chris Kaman had 15 rebounds.

Ray Allen led the Sonics with 15 points.

Seattle took a 10-4 lead early, but the Clippers went on an 11-2 run to take a 15-12 lead -- and then LA closed out the first quarter with a 10-2 run.

The Clippers took control in the second quarter with a 14-2 run, highlighted by a Mobley three and five straight points by Kaman. LA led, 53-31, at the intermission -- and ran the lead to 37 points at one point in the third quarter.

The Sonics staged a 17-2 run in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough to get them back in the game. // Copyright 2007 by United Press International
