Stuckey, Jefferson earn NBA honors
Shooting guard Rodney Stuckey of Detroit and power forward-center Al Jefferson of Minnesota Monday were named the NBA's players of the week.
Stuckey won the Eastern Conference honors by averaging 23 points, 5.3 assists and 4.5 rebounds in leading the Pistons to a 4-0 record in the week that ended Sunday.
Jefferson took the Western Conference award by averaging 27.3 points and 12.3 rebounds as the Timberwolves produced a 3-1 record during the week.
Other players considered for the weekly honors were Atlanta's Josh Smith, Boston's Paul Pierce, Charlotte's Boris Diaw, Cleveland's LeBron James, Dallas's Josh Howard, Denver's Nene, Indiana's Jarrett Jack, the Lakers' Kobe Bryant, Miami's Dwyane Wade, the Knicks' Wilson Chandler, Phoenix's Shaquille O'Neal, San Antonio's Tony Parker and Washington's Antawn Jamison.
