Terry to have exploratory surgery on back problem
London (dpa) - Chelsea captain John Terry will visit a specialist in France to determine the extent of his back injury, according to reports in the British media Wednesday.
The centre-back has missed the last four matches with the problem, and his absence has been felt as Chelsea have conceded six times in those games.
The Daily Mirror reported that Terry is to have exploratory surgery in Bordeaux, which will keep him out for at least a fortnight.
If further surgery is required, an absence of several months is likely. // © 2006 DPA
