Zinedine Zidane’s fight with French magazine
A French magazine was fined 50,000 Euros after suggesting ex- soccer star Zinedine Zidane was lovingly involved with pop star Nadia Zighem.
“Voici” published pictures of Zidane entering a Paris edifice next to images of 33-year-old Zighem, who performs as Nadiya, at the same address.
A Paris judge ruled the story, which was published in November this year, caused "unquestionable prejudice" to the 34-year-old previous France captain, who is married with four children.
It also violated his private life and the judge awarded Zidane the sum in damages also ordering “Voici” to issue an apology on the front page of a future issue.
Zidane retired from soccer this year after bowing out at the world cup in Germany.
The French team was losing finalists to Italy, but Zidane stole the show, being sent off after attacking opposition player Marco Matterazzi.
