MLB: Philadelphia 5, Atlanta 0Cole Hamels threw the first shutout of his career Thursday and the Philadelphia Phillies produced three home runs in downing Atlanta 5-0. Hamels (5-3) gave up four hits, walked two and struck out six. He retired 16 of the first 17 batters he faced. Atlanta had only one runner get as far as second base. Pedro Feliz hit a solo shot in the second, Ryan Howard had another one in the third and Shane Victorino had a two-run blast in the fourth. The loss went to Chuck James (2-3), who gave up all five runs on six hits in four innings. Atlanta's Chipper Jones, who is leading the majors with a .418 batting average, was held out of the lineup after suffering a slight groin pull during a ninth-inning at-bat Wednesday. Simon tops Tursunov in Indy tennis final
