MLB: N.Y. Yankees 4, Cincinnati 1Andy Pettitte's six scoreless innings Sunday helped the New York Yankees beat Cincinnati 4-1. Pettitte (8-5) yielded only four hits in one of his best outings this season. He walked two batters, fanned four and threw 63 of his 97 pitches for strikes. Jason Giambi led New York's offense with three hits in three at-bats, driving in two runs and scoring twice. His two-run double in the top of the sixth capped the Yankees' scoring. Robinson Cano and Jorge Posada had one RBI apiece, with Posada and Bobby Abreu both getting two hits for the Yankees, who averted a three-game inter-league sweep after their seven-game winning streak. Mariano Rivera recorded his 21st save despite giving up two hits in the top of the ninth. Cincinnati's lone run scored on Ken Griffey Jr.'s 601st career home run in the top of the eighth. The Reds' Joey Votto and Brandon Phillips had two hits each. The losing pitcher was rookie starter Johnny Cueto (5-8).
