Vladimir Venglovschi of Moldova won the top prize at the professional powerlifting championship held in Dubuque town of Iowa state, the United States. He showed the best result in the up to 100kg class, lifting 992.5 kg overall at three events.

Ten best powerlifters from the United States, Poland, Mexico and Canada took part in the competition.

Vladimir Venglovschi is a member of the National Youth Movement “Voievod”. He is 29 years old and lives in Tiraspol. He began doing powerlifting when he was ten. In 2007, he became European champion, while in 2008 champion of the United States.

Moldovan powerlifters will also participate in the World Powerlifting Championship that will take place in the U.S. in November this year.//REPORTER.MD
