MLB: Cleveland 12, Kansas City 5

Kelly Shoppach and Shin-Soo Choo homered and both drove in three runs Friday, sending the Cleveland Indians to a 12-5 decision over Kansas City.

Cliff Lee took advantage of a 16-hit attack to win his 22nd game -- tops in the American League.

Lee (22-2) gave up 11 hits and four earned runs over 8 1/3 innings to win his 11th straight decision dating to July 6.

Grady Sizemore had three hits and two RBI and Asdrubal Cabrera had a two-run homer in helping the Indians win for the fourth time in six games.

Shoppach had a solo homer in the second to put the Indians in front for good and singled in two more runs during a four-run fifth.

Choo had RBI singles in both the first and fifth and hit a solo homer in the eighth.

Gil Meche (11-11) lost for just the second time in 13 starts. He gave up six runs on 10 hits through five innings.

It was Kansas City's fourth loss in five games.
