DUI investigation of Sharks' Bell deepensThe district attorney's office in Santa Clara, Calif., has deepened an investigation into an alleged DUI crash involving San Jose Sharks player Mark Bell. While the left wing pleaded innocent to charges resulting from the Sept. 4 accident, the San Jose Mercury News said that the Santa Clara District Attorney's office is still investigating the matter after pushing back last Thursday's court date. Prosecutors alleged that the 26-year-old NHL player drove into a pickup truck while driving drunk near the San Jose city limits and fled the scene before police arrived. Police found Bell less than a mile away from the accident scene and the D.A.'s office said his blood alcohol level was more than 0.15 percent. If convicted of felony hit-and-run, along with related DUI charges, Bell could face up to three years and 8 months in prison. Bell is due in court again on April 11.
